2ND EDITION RECOVERY GUIDE
No book existed on exiting the sex industry before we created the 12 Step program. After interviewing 4,000 men, women and transgenders, who were out of both legal and illegal sex work in some form, all over the world - we wrote this "Recovery Guide". It was written at a time when we were first identifying what our "problems" were. Like identifying "Relapse Syndrome" and "Post-Prostitution Syndrome". We had our first meeting in 1987 and this book was first sent out for fellowship approval in 1991 - printed in 1992. We have many testimonials this book "saved my life" from readers.
We started our program in 1987. Many people who came to us that first year have stayed in touch with us over the years. Some have been life long members. So over the years, we started noticing very common "patterns" among us as we aged. For example, probably 80 % of us were found to have problems with our thyroids, and also developed some type of auto-immune disorder by the time we hit 40 years old. We also had a lot of questions in the 1st edition that we hadn't developed answers to. Like how to interrupt the "Relapse Syndrome" or how to "deprogram" someone who was "brainwashed". So the "solutions" and "answers" we found over 30 years time went into the need to write the 2nd edition mostly in the hopes those who came after us wouldn't make some of the mistakes we made because never before had any of us grouped together before long enough to identify these issues - let alone find solutions.
MAIL ORDER STUDY PROGRAM
For those who are unable to come to any type of meetings because of being in jail, or a nursing home, or maybe a very remote area - we have the mail step study program. This works like a "pen pal" system where we send you the step work starting with step one along with all the materials you need to get the work done. You send your answers in and then we send you step two - and so on until you've worked through your steps with another person in recovery who has been through the steps. We paid you with a sponsor who has a lot in "common with you". All work is confiential.

Everything you need to start a meeting is included. You get a format to try out that's worked for us for years which you can use "as is" or adapt. You get the reading materials and a notebook that has "masters" of forms you can copy and use like for Treasurer Reports. There's 5 copies of the 1st and 2nd editions of the "Recovery Guide" long with the Step Working Guide. This way you can have five people hitting the gate running to start doing their step work. Until we're bigger, we use a copy of the Narcotics Anonymous "Tree" which is the original service structure NA had when they first started and were growing like we were - with a lot of police opposition.

However, since many of these services are offered "privately" by individual members, we don't really have set rates. They have to be discussed and negotiated first. Don't let a lack of money stop you from asking for help. Whatever you need, we will find a way to help you without money being a barrier. This goes for any legal assistance you might need if you're in early recovery such as if you've been arrested and/or you're on probation and/or you're escaping a pimp. We have members who are attorney's and some attorney's donate us help. To protect everyone's anonymity however, we don't list attorney's names on our site. Nor will we list resources and/or people who help us because we don't want to wind up with them being targeted by pissed off pimps.
